Amazon EC2 on the other hand is a cloud “hosting” service, which allows you to borrow resources(servers) that you can use in many ways. Personally I feel that EC2 is not well suited for hosting. The reasons why I think this are:
1) It is designed to borrow not to hold resources. If you need to hold them it is inefficient both performance and price wise.
2) We’ve tried and the network performance was not satisfactory probably because it has never been meant to be used in that way.

So EC2 is a great resource if your company needs to make a proof of concept or some sort of research for a limited amount of time and needs an easy way to dispose of the resources afterwards.
